| • Liz McClarnon backs drive for bone marrow donors |
Posted by Aniek | 0 Comments left |
| POP star Liz McClarnon today backed the Visiter’s bone marrow donor drive, in memory of brave Southport schoolgirl Ella Wright. The former Atomic Kitten singer last year hosted a clinic encouraging people to sign up to the Anthony Nolan bone marrow register in a bid to find a match for Ella and her brother, Sam. After hearing of the eight-year old’s tragic death, the Celebrity Masterchef star called on Visiter readers to attend our donor registration session on December 18 to help Sam and the 16,000 people in the UK in need of a transplant. She said: “In light of Ella's death I urge everyone to see if they are eligible to be bone marrow donors – it is so much simpler that it used to be. “Please, please visit attend the Visiter’s donor drive or visit the Anthony Nolan Trust website and see how you can help. “You could actually save a life. Remember, Sam is still waiting for a match." Liz led a recruitment drive in aid of Sam and Ella at our sister newspaper, the Liverpool ECHO for Noel Edmonds’ show Noel’s HQ. The 28-year-old was joined by Hollyoaks actor James Sutton in drumming up support for the Anthony Nolan Trust. |

| • Natasha and Liz back together for Help The Heroes single |
Posted by Aniek | 0 Comments left |
| KITTENS Liz McClarnon and Natasha Hamilton have reunited alongside a host of other stars to support the Help For Heroes campaign and the Royal British Legion. The two Scouse singers joined big names including Bee Gees legend Robin Gibb, Michael Bolton, Mica Paris and former Queen frontman Paul Rodgers to record a fund raising tribute song. We Will Remember Them has been specially penned by Whitesnake's Robert Hart and A1’s star Mark Read and also features The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the Scottish pipes and horns. “To hear a full orchestra playing live was absolutely amazing and beautiful,” Natasha tells Insider. “And it was so lovely to see Liz, it’s been ages, although we do speak on the phone. We huddled onto the same mic while we recorded the song then had a good catch up.” We Will Remember Them is already available to download and in the shops from today. |

| • Liz McClarnon on Kerry finger food |
Posted by Aniek | 0 Comments left |
| Liz McClarnon has said fellow Atomic Kitten Kerry Katona didn't always appreciate her haute cuisine and would stick her fingers in her dinners. The Celebrity Masterchef winner, 28, reckons her finer palate was wasted on the former face of Iceland. She said: "I was always the foodie and everytime I would order something Kerry would always go 'What's that?' and poke her finger in it... it wasn't a sausage roll you see." And Liz said she was shocked her other former bandmate, Natasha Hamilton, went on Celebrity Come Dine With Me because her last attempt to cook curry "blew her husband's head off". Liz recalled when Natasha phoned her for advice after mistaking curry paste for curry sauce. She said: "She phoned me up and was like 'Oh my God, you won't believe what I've just done. I got curry paste and not curry sauce.' So I said 'Well, with curry paste you only put a couple of spoons in' and she said 'I didn't know that' and she put the whole jar in. "It blew her husband Riad's head off, but God love Riad, he ate the whole lot because he was starving but he was sweating and it was a very funny sight to see." However, despite Liz's concerns Natasha wowed her fellow diners with a sophisticated menu and a lemon and lime cheesecake, winning her the competition. |

| • Atomic Kitten star praises MK retail talent |
Posted by Lara | 0 Comments left |
| Seventeen acts took part in a talent competition searching for the best singers, dancers and comedians hidden in the retail industry. Staff from local businesses performed in the first live auditions of the Search for a Star competition, run by the Retail Trust charity, which took place at Xscape, Central Milton Keynes on Saturday, October 31. Blue's Antony Costa and Atomic Kitten's Liz McClarnon headed the panel of judges. Liz McClarnon said she was 'genuinely surprised that some of the acts haven't been snapped up by labels already.' The performances were broadcasted live on Heart FM. The acts included staff from House of Fraser, New Look, Marks & Spencer, Debenhams, Matalan, Jaegar, Austin Reed, Hallet, Signet, Cargo, Monsoon Accessorize, Dreams and Tates. Auditions were also held in Brighton this weekend and over 100 acts from around the country will perform in heats at three further locations. The judges will then choose 50 acts that will be featured on the Retail Trust's website at www.retailtrustsearchforastar from November 20, allowing the public to vote for their favourite. Four finalists will have the chance to perform in front of 1,100 major retailers, including Sir Philip Green, Sir Stuart Rose and Theo Paphitis, at the Retail Trust London Ball at Grosvenor House on January 25, where the winner will be chosen by attendants. The winner will be taken on the books of entertainment agency CAA, which works with The X Factor and Britain's Got Talent's finalists, and win a trip to Monaco courtesy of Monaco Tourist Board, BA City Flyer and Novotel. |

| • Natasha Hamilton to join Corrie? |
Posted by Lara | 0 Comments left |
| Stunning Corrie star Kym Marsh could have a rival on the street in the new year. I hear ex-Atomic Kitten Natasha Hamilton has been wooing Corrie's scriptwriters and it sounds like she could be the next babe behind the bar in the Rovers! Natasha, 27, enjoyed lunch with Corrie scriptwriter Darran Little at Manchester's Living Room and my insider told me, 'They were deep in conversation and looked like they had lots to talk about!' Since joining my favourite soap back in 2006, Kym's put those cringy Hear'say hits behind her and become a huge hit with Corrie viewers, so it just goes to prove that adding a touch a glamour from an ex-pop starlet does no harm! |

| WE’VE had The Prince and the Showgirl ... but how about The Prince and the Kitten? Natasha Hamilton kept a right royal date with Prince Andrew as a perk of her role as an ambassador of the Outward Bound Trust. Tash and husband Riad met up with HRH, chairman of the Trust, at the launch of its new centre in Ullswater in the Lake District. She tells Insider: “I had my lunch with the Prince, he was so lovely and I was chatting to him for quite a while! He is very passionate about the Trust, which really is a superb cause, helping underprivileged young people achieve their true potential through activities ranging from canoeing, sailing, raft building, team work and orienteering, to camping.” Links: |
